Kahreen is one of the longest established instructors in South Florida who has been teaching for the past 40 years. Kira is a second-generation performer, teacher, choreographer who is known for her stunning and theatrical interpretive dance style. Props are an exciting part of this dance. The sword is a prop that fascinates audiences of all ages and backgrounds. This class will cover balancing techniques, turns and travelling combinations utilizing the sword. The next prop that we will use is the cane. Combinations will be taught utilizing the cane as well as proper techniques for loosening the wrist so that better techniques for cane twirling can be done. The last prop that will be covered will be zils. Zils are a percussive instrument, so drills will be done so that the dancer/student will develop better dexterity. This class is full of information, and geared toward dancers of all levels. For more information on Kahreen & Kira's Classes, check out class schedule at Classes.
